يواصل منقذون وجنود يابانيون، السبت، عمليات البحث عن المفقودين لليوم الثالث على التوالي، في قرية صغيرة دفنتها انهيارات أرضية ناجمة عن زلزال قوي، في وقت عادت فيه الكهرباء إلى معظم المنازل وجرى استئناف الرحلات الجوية الدولية.

وذكرت حكومة هوكايدو، السبت، أن 30 شخصا لقوا حتفهم، فيما لا يزال 9 آخرين في عداد المفقودين.

وجميع الضحايا ما عدا 3 في بلدة أتسوما، حيث سحقت انهيارات أرضية منازل ودفنتها عند سفح التلال التي تغطيها الأشجار الكثيفة والمطلة على حقول الأرز.

وأعلنت شركة «تويوتا موتورز» تعليقها كافة إنتاجها تقريبا في اليابان، الاثنين.

وتصنع «تويوتا» ناقلات الحركة وأجزاء أخرى من سياراتها في هوكايدو، كما أن لديها مزودي خدمات في أقصى شمال الجزيرة.

وضرب الزلزال الذي بلغت قوته 6.7 درجة في حوالى الساعة الثالثة صباحا، الخميس، وأدى إلى انقطاع الكهرباء في الجزيرة التي يبلغ عدد سكانها 5.4 مليون نسمة، كما أدى إلى غرق أجزاء من حي في مدينة سابورو الرئيسية في الطين وتسببت في انهيارات أرضية مدمرة.
