بالصور أنطلاق مهرجان أكل لحوم الكلاب رغم المطالبات بالحظر

تشهد الصين في شهر يونيو من كل عام، مهرجان يقام في مدينة يولين لأكل لحوم الكلاب، وعلى الرغم من كل التقارير التي أكدت إلغائه هذا العام وحظره، تم إقامته أمس الأربعاء.

ذكرت هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية بي بي سي، أن أكل لحم الكلاب يعد جزءا من تقاليد مدينة يولين، التي بدأت بين القرنين 14 و 16 أثناء عهد أسرة مينج، أي أن عادة تناول لحم الكلاب بدأت في الصين منذ 500 عام.

أثناء التنزه في مدينة يولين الصينية، هذا الوقت من العام، يمكن رؤية الكلاب معلقة في خطاطيف اللحوم فى الأكشاك فى سوق دونجكو، أكبر أسواق المدينة.

أكل الكلاب.. خلاف قائم

وتنتشر الشرطة في الشوارع لمنع دخول أي ناشط إلى الأسواق، حيث يذكر أنه خلال السنوات الماضية، وقعت مشاجرات عديدة بين أصحاب الأكشاك والناشطين أثناء محاولتهم إنقاذ الكلاب قبل ذبحها، حيث يرون أن الحيوانات يتم معاملتها بقسوة، ولكن البائعين يؤكدون أنها تُقتل بطريقة إنسانية.

China's notorious Yulin Dog Meat Festival opened today despite rumours of a ban

Some claimed that the consumption of dog meat has been observed in Guangxi Province, China, for hundreds of years, but the activity became more popular in the recent decades

Dog meat sellers in Yulin have said previously that activists' protests have actually attracted greater attention and encouraged more people to eat the meat 

An insider told MailOnline that all restaurants are packed today and dog markets are busy

In May, the Yulin government was said to have informed the local vendors to stop selling dog meat in the lead-up to the summer solstice, which falls on June 21 this year

However, a spokesman told media later that the government had never issued such a ban

The restaurant was filled with eager diners on June 21 last year as Yulin celebrated the event
