ولم تتضح تفاصيل كيفية تحقيق نزع السلاح النووي، ولا يزال العديد من المحللين يشككون في أسباب حماس الشمال الواضح للمشاركة.

وقال مسؤول كوري جنوبي إن كيم جونغ-أون زعيم كوريا الشمالية أبلغ نظيره الجنوبي في جلسة المباحثات الأولى بأنه جاء إلى القمة التاريخية بهدف إنهاء الصراع بين الدولتين.

ونقلت وكالة رويترز عن المسؤول قوله إن الزعيمين أجريا “نقاشات جادة وصريحة” حول نزع الأسلحة النووية في شبه الجزيرة الكورية وإبرام اتفاق سلام نهائي.

كما نُقل عن متحدث باسم الرئاسة الكورية الجنوبية قوله إن كيم قال إنه مستعد لزيارة سول في أي وقت لو قدمت له دعوة.

وكان كيم جونغ-أون أول رئيس كوري شمالي تطأ قدماه أراضي كوريا الجنوبية، بعد عبوره خط الحدود العسكرية الذي قسم شبه الجزية الكورية الى بلدين منذ نهاية الحرب الكورية قبل 65 عاما.

والتقى كيم نظيره الكوري الجنوبي مون جاي-إن على الحدود ، ثم توجها إلى مقر قمتهما التاريخية في المنطقة المنزوعة السلاح بين البلدين.

وفي حركة حملت دلالة رمزية كبيرة تصافح الرئيسان على خط الحدود في المنطقة المنزوعة السلاح بين البلدين.

وقال كيم، قبل توجه إلى الجانب الكوري الجنوبي من المنطقة الحدودية للقاء نظيره مون جاي-إن، إنه سيناقش “بإخلاص كل القضايا الهادفة لتحسين العلاقات بين الكوريتين وإنجاز السلام والرخاء وإعادة توحيد شبه الجزيرة الكورية”، بحسب وكالة الأنباء الكورية الشمالية الرسمية.

وتتركز المحادثات التاريخية بين الزعيمين على مقترحات كوريا الشمالية الأخيرة التي عبرت فيها عن أنها قد تكون مستعدة للتخلي عن أسلحتها النووية.

The two Koreas have agreed for South Korea's President Moon Jae-in to visit Pyongyang sometime this autumn it has emerged

Moon  seized on the South's Winter Olympics as an opportunity to broker dialogue with Kim Jong-un, and has said his meeting with the dictator will serve to set up the summit between Pyongyang and Washington

As Kim's car left the first round of talks for lunch, it was protected by 12 suited bodyguards who formed a ring around the vehicle while jogging to keep up

 The two sides were writing up a joint statement and the leaders will announce it together when it is finished

Kim said that 'with determination, we will be heading toward a better place to make up for the lost 11 years' since the last summit
