اجتاح إعصار (فاني) شرق الهند، يوم الجمعة، ليلحق أضرارا بالمنازل في بلدة بوري السياحية وقُتل 12 شخص، واصيب نحو 160 شخصا، بعد نقل مليون شخص إلى ملاجئ من الأعاصير.

واقتلع الإعصار (فاني) الأشجار وخطوط الكهرباء والاتصالات، ويعتبر أقوى إعصار يضرب الهند منذ خمس سنوات، ليضرب ساحل ولاية أوديشا الشرقية.

وذكرت إدارة الأرصاد الجوية الحكومية بالهند أن الإعصار (فاني) الذي ظل أياما يحشد قوته فوق شمال خليج البنغال، ضرب ساحل ولاية أوديشا في نحو الساعة الثامنة صباحا بالتوقيت المحلي (0320 بتوقيت جرينتش).

ووصلت سرعة رياحه إلى 200 كيلومتر في الساعة، فاقتلعت عشرات الأشجار وأعاقت الأمطار الغزيرة الرؤية بينما خلت الشوارع من المارة في بوبانيشوار عاصمة الولاية وفي بلدة بوري.

وقال بيشنوبادا سيثي، المفوض الخاص بشؤون الإغاثة في أوديشا، لرويترز: “الأضرار في بوري هائلة وتعطلت إمدادات الكهرباء وخطوط الهاتف”، مشيرا إلى البلدة الساحلية التي تضم معبدا هندوسيا وتعتبر مقصدا للزوار الهندوس والتي كانت تقع مباشرة في مسار الإعصار.

وقدرت هيئة (تروبيكال ستورم ريسك) لرصد الأعاصير شدة الإعصار فاني بأنها من الدرجة الرابعة على مقياس من خمس درجات، غير أن إدارة الأرصاد الجوية الحكومية ذكرت أن قوة الإعصار آخذة في التناقص.
